Climate Positive Olympics another Broken Promise = MADNESS

Sports’ global emissions are on par with those of Spain. Los Angeles 2028 has adopted a "radical reuse" approach to the Games, meaning it won't need a single new permanent venue to be built.

The International Olympic Committee promised Climate Positive Olympics and set the guidelines. The construction of brand-new infrastructure (transport systems, Olympic villages, stadia, and Olympic parks) has a huge carbon footprint (source: Climate council). On this account the International Olympic Committee should strongly disapprove all new venues. They did not and even endorsed them against their own policies. Will the QLD government off set the carbon emissions by buying carbon credits or planting trees? 3 million tones x 36 $/ton makes 108 million dollar. Is the taxpayer going to foot the bill again? Would it not be better to build hospitals, public housing, roads, and help the under-privileged? 

Our Trust violated and Laws cancelled = MADNESS

Election promise 'No New Stadium in Victoria Park' broken

QLD Government has cancelled 15 Planning Laws such as  Environmental Protection Act, the Planning Act, the Queensland Heritage Act, the Local Government Act, and the Nature Conservation Act. These laws protect its citizens from harm, they protect its citizens from abuse by individuals, companies and governments alike. These laws are gone now,  so the stadiums can be fast tracked without scrutiny or due diligence. In the darkness democracy dies. 

Significant First Nations Land being destroyed = MADNESS 

This shows a lack of respect for the Indigenous Community. Indigenous Communities are the custodians of the land. Once Barrambin is gone, we won't get it back

Legal Challenges will cause delays 

If the venues are not build on time, the Olympic International Committee might impose billions of dollar in penalties. Delays in the construction might costs the construction companies huge amounts of money and they might seek compensation from the QLD government.

Huge reputational damage for Australia if not build on time. Why take this risk?
